BOULDER – University of Colorado Buffaloes tennis alumni, Dr. Sheila Ohlsson Walker, will be inducted into the 2025 Colorado Tennis Hall of Fame, announced by the United States Tennis Association this September.

Dr. Ohlsson Walker, a former professional player and now behavioral geneticist, will be inducted on November 8th, at the 2025 Colorado Tennis Hall of Fame Gala & USTA Colorado Annual Awards Celebration.

Dr. Ohlsson Walker came to Colorado from Ohio State in 1986, bringing a historic career for the Buffs. In her time at CU, Walker etched her name in the record book in both singles and doubles competition. In addition to her performance on the court, Dr. Ohlsson Walker was named Big 8 All-Academic First Team for all three years she resided as a Buff (1986-88). Her senior year, she became the first tennis athlete awarded the Big 8 Ike Groce Sportsmanship Award.

Following her graduation from Colorado, Dr. Ohlsson Walker continued on to receive her doctorate at King's College in London, researching neuroscience, genetics, psychology, and social science within youth athletic development.

She now serves as a Senior Scientist at Tufts University's Institute for Applied Research in Youth Development and has co-authored "Wise Decisions: A Science-Based Approach to Making Better Choices" with Dr. Jim Loehr.
