Strength & Conditioning

The Colorado Buffaloes are committed to the strength & conditioning needs of our 17 intercollegiate varsity sports by utilizing the expertise of seven full-time certified strength & conditioning coaches and two full-time dietitians. Each one of our 300-plus student-athletes are trained in an specialized manner, with programs geared to the unique aspects of their sport, position and/or event.

Our training focuses on improving all aspects of athletic performance. We work on improving strength, power, lineal speed, lateral speed and agility, first step quickness, balance and body control. By improving performance in each of these areas our goal is not to make you a better weightlifter, but a better athlete. We strive to prevent injuries, keeping our athletes healthy and able to compete at all cost.

We accomplish this by utilizing a combination of Plyometrics, Olympic Lifting, Power Lifting, Core and Stability Training, and the most up to date movement training available. Overall, we look to improve our athlete’s playing ability by making them stronger, quicker, and more explosive.

With the completion of the Champions Center and the renovation of the Dal Ward Athetic Center, our facilities have grown to three full-service strength & conditioning areas.
