Buffs Close Regional Action; Mathison, Bianco Headed to Nationals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field West Regional Championships came to a close Saturday evening at E.B. Cushing Stadium, with three Buffaloes wrapping up their season on the final day of competition.
Riley Ward was the first to compete for Colorado, attempting to clear 1.71 meters in the high jump but was unable to record a mark.
In the 5,000-meter semifinal, Kati Baeuerle placed 15th in 16:05.92, while Jessie Secor finished 31st in 16:34.74.
With the conclusion of the regional meet, two Buffaloes will advance to the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, set for June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
Kole Mathison qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after posting a personal best 8:32.74 on Friday. Nick Bianco punched his ticket earlier this season after recording a school-record 7,655 points in the decathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational, earning him the No. 22 spot nationally.
