February 11, 2026 | Lacrosse
IRVING, Texas – Colorado secured three Big 12 Player of the Week honors, following week one of the 2026 season on Wednesday.
Maddie Shoup (Attack), Jess Peluso (Defender) and Elena Oh (Goalkeeper) represented the Buffaloes in the weekly honors, following their season-opening upset win over No. 2 Northwestern.
Shoup, a senior from Lafayette Hill, Pa., accounted for half of Colorado's goal total in the 10-9 win over the Wildcats. She scored on five of her six shots, recording her eighth career hat trick and extending her goal-scoring streak to 12 consecutive games. Monday's win was her 18th career multi-goal game. She scored four of her goals in the second half, including the game-winning goal with 4:25 left to play.
Peluso, a senior from East Islip, N.Y., helped the CU defense keep the high-powered offense of Northwester to just nine goals. The 2025 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year forced two turnovers and had a key block late in the fourth quarter. She also had one ground ball and one draw control.
Oh, a sophomore from Chapel Hill, N.C., made eight saves against the Wildcats. She made six saves in the second half, including five in the fourth quarter, with three of them coming in the final three minutes. Oh made a game-saving stop on Gabriella McCollester with 10 seconds to play and held onto the ball to run out the clock and clinch the win.
The honor marks the first for Shoup, while Peluso picks up her fourth Big 12 weekly honor, and Oh receives her fifth.
