El Sayed Named All-Big 12

IRVING, Texas – Colorado's Aya El Sayed earned second-team All-Big 12 honors, the Big 12 announced Thursday.
El Sayed has been awarded a conference honor for the third time in her career. She was second-team All-Pac-12 in 2024 and an All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2023. El Sayed is the sixth Buff to be honored in three different seasons and the first since Julyette Steur from 2013-2015.
This season, El Sayed won six singles matches at No. 1 singles, with four coming against ranked opponents. Her biggest win of the season came in the upset over Oklahoma State, beating the No. 53-ranked opponent in straight sets 7-6 (4), 6-4. In doubles, she came away with eight wins this season, split between the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
During her career, she was one of only 33 players to hit the 100-victory mark at Colorado. She ended with 56 singles wins (31st in CU history), 44 doubles wins (37th in CU history), 16 wins at No. 1 singles (10th in CU history), 21 wins at No. 1 doubles (8th in CU history), and 14 wins at No. 1 doubles with partner Pia Rebec (5th in CU history).
El Sayed has closed her career at Colorado as one of the most decorated players in school history.
