Spirit (Cheer, Dance & Chip) Appearance Request Form
The University of Colorado Spirit Program is very involved in the community of Boulder and the greater metro area appearing at charitable/non-profit and private events throughout the year. The Spirit Program is committed to sharing the pride of CU Athletics with the community.
Please note that Cheer, Chip and Dance will NOT be available for appearances from December 22nd - January 6th as they will be on winter break.
If you would like to request the CU Cheer, Chip, or Dance Teams for your event, please review the policies and fill out the form below.
- All requests must be made via this online form and are considered on a first come first served basis.
- Completion of this form does not guarantee the fulfillment of the request.
- Our teams are comprised of students and appearance availability is subject to their class and work schedule. Due to the changing nature of schedules, we encourage requests to be submitted at least 2 but not more than 8 weeks prior to the event. We understand that things do come up and will accept last minute requests but please note they may be hard to fill.
- After submission, please allow one week for us to respond to your request. You will receive an e-mail from CUBuffsSpirit@colorado.edu with an approval, denial, or a follow up with more questions. Please note, if your request is approved you will receive an official confirmation e-mail two weeks prior to your event.
- We reserve the right to deny any request at any time.
- Requests for appearances that are held at a bar, liquor store, club, restaurant or any venue that requires an ID to get in will be reviewed by the Spirit Director and may be accepted or denied on a case-by-case basis.
- A private room for changing and storing items is required.
- If Cheer and Dance is requested, you will be sent a few members from each team unless otherwise requested. What to expect when requesting;
- Cheer – can perform cheers, fight song and stunts (if appearance location is an approved surface)
- Dance – can perform dance routines to music provided as well as perform the fight song
- Any appearance that is outside of Boulder will also be charged mileage at a rate of $0.52/mile, which goes directly to the driver for gas.
- A speedtype must be provided on the form for all campus organization appearances. You will be sent an invoice if you choose to pay by credit card.
- You may request 1 team, 2 teams or all 3 to attend your event.
Pricing for Appearances
- $400 per hour for Chip and $250 per hour for Cheer and Dance
- $200 per hour for Chip and $125 per hour for Cheer and Dance for non-profit or campus organization appearances. Please add this information in the description area of the form.
