CAREER: Evans wrapped up her two-year career at Colorado as the school-record holder for shots per game (3.24) and shots on goal per game (1.74). Her points per game (0.98) and goals per game (0.38) averages were also second-best in CU history and her assists average (0.21) was fourth. Her totals of 41 points and 16 goals both rank eighth all-time. Including her first two seasons at Portland, Evans had 28 goals, 19 assists and 75 points in 81 matches with 80 starts in four years.

SENIOR (2016): Evans completed her career at Colorado with one of the best seasons in school history and led the Buffs to the NCAA Tournament and a second-place finish in the Pac-12. She, along with teammate Taylor Kornieck, became the first CU players ever to earn first-team all-Pac-12 honors and Evans was also named NSCAA third-team all-Pacific Region. On the season, she totaled 11 goals and six assists for 28 points, while attempting 84 shots, including 44 on goal, while starting all 22 matches at forward. She had three game-winning goals as well. Her points, points per game (1.27), shots attempted (tied) and goals per game (tied, 0.50) all were the second-most in a single season in CU history and her goals ranked tied for third. She ranked 31st in the nation in shots on goal per game (2.00), 39th in shots per game (3.82), 45th in goals, 46th in points, and 80th in points per game and goals per game. In the Pac-12, she was first the conference in shots on goal per game, second in points, goals and shots per game, fourth in assists, and fifth in points per game and goals per game. She netted her first goal of the season against Colorado State in a 2-1 win on Aug. 21. Evans scored in back-to-back matches on Sept. 4 and Sept. 9 in wins over Drexel and Hawai’i and then scored in overtime to beat Denver 1-0 on Sept. 17. Moving into Pac-12 play, she found the net once and assisted on two other goals for a career-high four points in a 3-0 win over Oregon State. In the next match, Evans scored twice to total four points again in a 2-1 win over Washington. She had another two-goal game on Oct. 23, scoring the first two goals of a 3-2 overtime win at No. 10 California. In CU’s next match, she assisted Emily Bruder’s goal in a 1-0 upset of No. 9 UCLA at home. She wrapped up Pac-12 play with a goal in a 1-1 draw with No. 23 Utah on Nov. 4 and then scored in CU’s 3-1 win over Oklahoma State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 12. Evans caught fire late in the season, scoring 17 points (seven goals, three assists) in the final nine matches of the year. In six matches against ranked teams, she scored seven goals and had one assist for seven points, all team-bests. In Pac-12 play, she led the team with 15 points and tied for the team lead with six goals and three assists in 11 matches.

JUNIOR (2015): Evans enjoyed her first season in Boulder as one of the top players for the Buffs. She tied for the team lead in goals scored with five and was second in points with 13, shot attempts (52) and shots on goal (29). She also had five assists and recorded one game-winning goal, while starting 19 of 20 matches as a forward. Her first point of the season came in the team’s second match of the year when she earned an assist in a 3-0 win over Colorado College. She scored the first goal and tallied an assist in a 4-0 victory over New Mexico on Aug. 30. Two games later, she scored the game-tying goal in a 2-1 win over Iowa State on Sept. 6. She had her second three-point game of the season with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win against Villanova on Sept. 20. Trailing 1-0 at UCLA, Evans tied the game in the second half with a header off a corner kick by Joss Orejel on Oct. 23. She also tied a season high with six shot attempts in that match. Her final goal of the year came in a 3-3 draw with No. 25 Arizona on Oct. 30.

SOPHOMORE (2014 at PORTLAND): Evans started 18 matches, totaling 1,439 minutes. She tallied a team-best 17 points for a second straight season with a career-high seven goals and three assists. She also led the team with 42 shots and 21 shots on goal. Evans recorded four game-winners, both team and career-highs, and was a perfect 1-1 on penalty kick opportunities.

FRESHMAN (2013 at PORTLAND): Evans started all 21 matches and played a total of 1,494 minutes. She recorded five goals and tied a team-high with seven assists, which ranked second in the West Coast Conference. She had 40 shots, second most on the team and put 14 on frame. Evans tallied her first career game-winner in a 2-0 victory over Seattle in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and she followed with one goal and one assist during the second round when the Pilots faced Illinois. Evans was named an All-WCC Honorable Mention.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Evans played for the Colorado Edge and Colorado Rush club teams where she helped the Rush win the state cup in 2008 and 2010. From 2009-2012, she competed in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) with the Rush and was the national scoring leader in 2012-13, registering 40 goals. Her stellar performance helped her U-18 Rush team finish second in the nation in 2013 and was named the State Cup MVP in 2012. In the summer of 2014, she scored 13 goals and 29 points in only 12 matches for the Rush en route to the W-League’s Scoring Champion and Golden Boot titles. Evans was also invited to compete at the U-17 Women’s National Team Camp in 2012 and U-18 Women’s National Team Camp in 2013. Evans was a two-time letterwinner in high school. She led her team in scoring her freshman year and was also named second team All-Conference the same season. As a junior, she was again the team’s leading goal scorer and earned first team All-Conference honors as well as being named team MVP. In addition to soccer, Evans competed one year in gymnastics as a freshman, where she earned a place on the All-Conference first team and 11th place finish at the state meet. In total, she was a gymnast for 14 years and won 3v3 nationals three times.

IN THE CLASSROOM: Evans majors in sociology. She also is interested in criminal justice.

PERSONAL: Danica Evans was born in Littleton, Colo. on June 2, 1995 to David and Debbie Evans. Her father is a vocational counselor and mother is an escrow manager. Evans has five siblings, Destinee (21), who plays soccer at Ottawa University and, Delainee, Denaya, David and Dayton, who also each play soccer at various levels. Evans chose Colorado because she wanted to play in her home state and compete in the Pac-12 Conference.
