HIGH SCHOOL?He is ranked the No. 117 wide receiver in the nation by Scout and No. 119 wide receiver by ESPN, where he is also ranked the No. 140 player from Texas. He earned All-5A District 5 first-team honors as both a junior and senior. A three-year letter winner and two-year starter at Duncanville, under coach Jeff Dicus, he finished his career catching 87 passes for 1,338 yards and 21 touchdowns. As a senior, he caught 59 passes for 899 yards and 12 touchdowns and was used in spot duty as a kick returner. In a double overtime 56-55 win, he caught six passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns against Cedar Hill, the first time Duncanville beat its rival in six years. He caught at least four passes in 10 of the 11 games that season, catching six-or-more in five games. He had two 100-yard performances and five games with two touchdown receptions, and Duncanville was 4-1 in those five games (7-4 on the season). His junior year, he caught 21 passes for 338 yards and eight touchdowns, helping Duncanville to a share of the district championship. Against Mansfield, he had seven receptions for 114 yards and the game-winning touchdown in a 41-35 victory. He had three catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-13 win over Midlothian. As a sophomore, he had seven catches for 100 yards and a score. He also played basketball for three seasons.
ACADEMICS?He is undecided on a major at Colorado, but is interested in physical therapy as a possible field of study or career choice.
PERSONAL?He was born February 7, 1994 in Concord, Calif. He is a second cousin to Walter Napier, who played in the AFL for the Dallas Texans in 1964 and was the first African-American professional football player from Waco, Texas. WalterGÇÖs son, Keith Napier, played collegiately for Howard and is in the schoolGÇÖs hall of fame as a four-time All-MEAC performer and two-time All-American. He enjoys playing chess and is active in the community, helping with food drives throughout northern Texas.
