Colorado’s 181 points over two games are its most in the first two games of the season since the Buffaloes scored 204 Nov. 22 & 24, 2002 in wins over Cal-Poly (97-69) and Stetson (107-74).
The 166 given up by the Colorado defense in the first two games is the most since 168 allowed in back-to-back games to Arizona State (W 97-85) and Arizona (L, 67-83) at the 2018 Pac-12 Tournament (March 7-8).
Colorado outrebounded New Mexico by 20 (47-27). The Lobos went without a rebound for the first 10:26 of the second half. Colorado grabbed the first 13 rebounds of the half before the Lobos recorded one. In all, CU had a 24-8 advantage on the boards in the second half.
Keeshawn Barthelemy (20 points, 3-4 3FG, 7-8 FT) – Records his first 20-point game and has led the Buffs in scoring in both games. It was his second-straight double-figure scoring game; had two in 30 games last year. He made his first two 3-pointers, giving him five straight to begin the season before his first miss (midway through the first half) and is 6 of 7 from downtown in two games. Career-highs in points, free throws made and attempted.
Evan Battey (16 points, 7-10 FG, 2-2 3FG, 6 rebounds) has made 13 of 16 field goals to start the year. Hit both 3-point attempts – he had just two 3-pointers on 17 attempts in 32 games last year. It’s just his second game with multiple 3-point makes, the other coming as a freshman at San Diego (Nov. 20, 2018); his third career game.
Jabari Walker (17 points, 10 rebounds, 9-12 FT) third career double-double and the first for the Buffaloes this season. All three of his career double-figure rebounding games have resulted in double-doubles. It was his eighth career game scoring in double figures. Set career-highs for free throws made and attempted.
