Colorado-Colorado State Notes

Colorado improves to 6-0 at home this season. The Buffaloes have won their last nine home games dating back to last year and have won 22 of 23 since the beginning of 2023-24.
 
Colorado is 134-41 (.766) in regular season nonconference games under Boyle including an 87-24 (.784) mark since 2014-15. Colorado is 102-8 (.927) in nonconference home games under Boyle.
 
Colorado met its “Gold Standard” for the fourth time this season (4-0), holding the opponent to 40 percent or less from the field and having a plus-8 advantage in rebounding. Colorado State shot 31.3 percent from the field and the Buffaloes enjoyed a plus-11 advantage on the boards (44-33). Colorado is 94-6 in the Tad Boyle era when meeting the program’s “Gold Standard.”
 
Colorado held the rams to a season-low 31.3 percent from the field – in fact it was CSU’s first game under 40 percent this year. It was Colorado’s second-lowest percentage allowed; Cal State Fullerton shot 31.0 percent on Nov. 13. After giving up 60.3 percent to Iowa State in Maui, the Buffaloes have held their last two opponents to 33.9 percent (43-127).
 
Colorado improves to 93-39 all-time against Colorado State including a 56-9 mark in Boulder. The 55 points were the fewest scored by the Rams in Boulder since a 60-44 Colorado win on Jan. 11, 1988.
 
Colorado was just 7 of 12 from the free-throw line, marking the fewest made, attempted, as well as percentage (.583) on the season.
 
Colorado held former Buff and CSU leading scorer Nique Clifford to a season-low 10 points. He entered the game averaging 18.9 points on 57.3 shooting and made just 4 of 15 from the field (.267).
 
Sophomore RJ Smith (9 points) made his first career start as the Buffaloes utilized its fourth different starting lineup of the season.  Smith made both of his 3-point attempts and has made 8 of his last 12 over the last four games.
 
Trevor Baskin (9 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks) recorded a personal CU-high and team season-high 11 rebounds. It was his second-straight double figure rebounding game (10.5 rpg). Has five blocks over the last two games.
 
Bangot Dak (16 points, 7-8 FG, 4 rebounds) career highs in points and field goals made while matching a personal best in field goal attempts. First career double-figure scoring game and first time leading the Buffaloes in scoring. The 7 of 8 performance from the field (.875) is the team’s best percentage wise this year with at least four field goals made.
 
Assane Diop (3 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks) first career game with multiple blocked shots. Matched a personal-best with this three assists, all coming early in the first half. Made his second career 3-point field goal.
