Colorado-Baylor Notes

Colorado improves its lead in the all-time series with Baylor to 17-11 as the teams met in Boulder for the first time since 2010. The Buffs improve to 9-2 all-time against Baylor at the CU Events Center.
 
Colorado improved its record at home to 10-6, marking the 16th consecutive season the Buffaloes have won at least 10 games in a season at the CU Events Center. Colorado has won its last two at home since a rare six-game losing streak which ended vs. UCF.
 
Colorado, which shot 39 percent in the first half, opened the second half by making 13 of its first 17 shots (.767) over a span of 13:49, which included seven in a row and 10 out of 11 at one point. The Buffaloes would make that 14 of 19 (.737) before missing their final five field goal attempts over the last 4:58.
 
Colorado shot 84.0 percent from the free throw line (21-25) rebounding from its lowest performance in Big 12 play at Iowa State (13-22, .591)
 
Colorado matched its season-high in points during the conference season with 76, both coming in Colorado's two Big 12 wins.
 
Colorado had four players score in double figures for just the third time this season (3-0).
 
Colorado matched its Big 12 season high for 3-pointers made with nine (at Arizona, Houston) and tied for second overall (12 vs. CSU Fullerton). 
 
Baylor’s 69 field goal attempts was the most by a CU Big 12 opponent this season and second overall (74 by Northern Colorado.)
 
Andrej Jakimovski (17 points, 5 assists, 7 rebounds, 5-9 3FG) recorded his 12th double-figure scoring game of the season and led the Buffs for the sixth time. His five assists are his CU best, and tied for this third-best collegiate game overall. Jakimovski had back-to-back nine assist games as a freshman with Washington State against California and Stanford, Feb. 18 & 20, 2021. His five 3-pointers tied a career high, done twice this season (CSU Fullerton) and five times overall (three with WSU). He has made 11 of 25 from downtown the last four games (.440). Matched his CU best in rebounds for a Big 12 game (vs. UCF) and averaging 5.5 rebounds over the last six games.
 
Julian Hammond III (12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals) averaging 4.3 rebounds over the last three games, he has 13 total in that span after having just two over the previous four games before that. Moved into 22nd in career assists with 230, passing Lynn Baker (229 from 1963-67) and is 12 away from the top 20. Had three steals becoming the 30th player to reach 90 since the stat became official in 1977-78.
 
RJ Smith  (13 points, 5-8 FG, 1 block) fifth career double-figure scoring game and fourth this year. Recorded a blocked shot for the fifth straight game with six overall during that span. He had two blocks in his first 28 career games.
 
Bangot Dak (6 points, 4-4 FT, 1 block) career-high four free throws made, he’s made eight straight from the line dating back to the UCF game. Picked up a blocked shot which moved him into 24th on CU’s single-season list with 39, joining Carlton Carter (1998-99) and Ronnie DeGray (1996-97).
