  • Title:
    Defensive Line Coach
Dante’ Carter joined the Colorado staff in 2025 as a graduate assistant working with the defensive line and was promoted to defensive line coach in February 2026.

Carter earned the elevation after assisting with the Buffaloes’ defensive front during the 2025 season, replacing Domata Peko, who accepted the defensive line coaching position with the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers.

Prior to Colorado, Carter served as defensive line coach at Texas College in 2024. Under his direction, the Steers led the Sooner Athletic Conference and ranked fourth nationally in the NAIA with 39 sacks while finishing 8–3 on the season. His defensive front played a central role in the program’s pass rush production and overall defensive success.

Carter began his coaching career following his collegiate playing career. A defensive tackle, he played at Southeastern Louisiana as a freshman before transferring to Prairie View A&M, where he competed for three seasons. In 2022, he recorded 29 tackles, two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks for the Panthers.

A graduate of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Carter earned District 9-5A Defensive MVP honors and first-team Class 5A All-State recognition as a senior. Nicknamed “Baby Sapp” for his disruptive interior presence, Carter has worked under the tutelage of renowned pass rush specialist BT Jordan, which has led to him directly coaching and working with current NFL defensive linemen including Myles Garrett, Zach Allen, Danielle Hunter, Nik Bonitto and Will Anderson Jr. That exposure to elite professional preparation and advanced pass rush technique informs his developmental approach with Colorado’s defensive front.
