TRANSFER RANKINGS

French had a .8600 transfer rating from 247 Sports and was ranked as the No. 548 overall player in the transfer portal and the No. 33 linebacker. (As of Jan. 15, 2024).
He joins Colorado as a graduate transfer with one year to play one.

AT UTSA

Played three seasons at UTSA under head coach Jeff Traylor.
French played in 37 games over three seasons and started in 20.
He finished with 163 total tackles, 100 unassisted tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, and two-and-a-half sacks.
In 2024, he played in all 13 games and started 11, finishing with a team-leading 80 tackles and 17 tackles for loss. Only seven players had more tackles for loss nationally.
French was named Second-Team All-American Athletic Conference at inside linebacker.
Started nine games and played in all 13 contests in 2023.
He recorded 61 total tackles, 35 unassisted tackles, four-and-a-half tackles for loss, four quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, and one-and-a-half sacks.
In his first season as a Roadrunner, French appeared in 11 games and posted 22 total tackles, 13 unassisted tackles, one tackle for loss, and a pass breakup.

AT HUTCHINSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Played one season at Hutchinson Community College for head coach Drew Dallas in 2021.
He registered 60 total tackles, 31 unassisted tackles, six tackles for loss, five-and-a-half sacks, and five pass breakups.
Named an honorable mention All-Conference linebacker.

AT TENNESSEE

HIGH SCHOOL RANKINGS

A three-star prospect by the recruiting services.
247 Sports listed him as the No. 25 inside linebacker in the country and the No. 18 player from Tennessee.
The 247 Sports Composite ranked French the No. 320 player in the country, the No. 17 inside linebacker, and the No. 10 player from Tennessee.
The On3 Industry Ranking listed him as the No. 407 player in the country, the No. 147 safety, and the No. 29 player from Tennessee.

AT WHITEHAVEN

Played two seasons for head coach Rodney Saulsberry at Whitehaven High School.
As a senior in 2019, he finished with 82 tackles, 42 unassisted tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and two interceptions to help lead Whitehaven to the state semifinals.
In 2019, he played a key part of a defense that allowed just 5.4 points per game and produced seven shutouts.
He was named First-Team All-Region and Region Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.
As a junior, he led them to an appearance in the Class 6A state title game with 120 tackles, four forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
He was honored as Region 8-6A Defensive Player of the Year, Class 6A All-State, and Memphis Commercial Appeal Defensive First-Team All-Metro in 2018.
French was selected for the AutoZone Liberty High School All-Star Game.
