Scott lettered four seasons at CU (1992-93 through 1995-96) ... She is a two-time Olympian, competing for Japan in the 100-meter hurdles in 1996 and 2000 (she reached the semifinals in Sydney in ’00) ... While at CU, she earned a pair of All-American honors in the indoor 55-meter hurdles (ninth) and the outdoor 100-meter hurdles (fifth) in 1996 ... She won the Big 8 indoor 55-hurdle title in 1996, winning in 7.71 seconds ... Scott won three straight Big 8 Outdoor titles in the 100-hurdles from 1994-96, helping CU to the conference title as a senior, the last Big 8 Outdoor meet prior to the Big 12 being formed ... She won that ‘96 title in 13.65 seconds ... She still owns the CU record in the 100-hurdles at 12.98, which she set at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. ... Her collegiate best in the 100-meter dash is the second best time in CU history at 11.68 ... On the indoor charts she ranks fifth in the 55-hurdles (7.67) ... She was the 1995 and 1996 Japanese National Champion in the 100-meter hurdles as a collegian, and then won the event six more times (1997-2000, 2002-03) after she turned professional ... In all, she is an eight-time Japanese national champion, and still holds the nation’s records in both the 60- and 100-meter hurdles ... Also the 1997 East Asian champ in the hurdles ... Six-time participant in the IAAF Championships (three indoor, three outdoor) ... Currently the head track coach at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (since 2007; she was an assistant previously at Sacramento State and Long Beach State) ... Earned her Master’s from UNLV in Physical Education/Sports Administration in 2010 ... Recipient of the 2011 Neil C. Jackson Award, which recognizes the contributions of minority women who have demonstrated outstanding potential in scholarship, coaching, administration and leadership to girls/women in sport ... She is married to Larry Wade, a former elite hurdler at Texas A&M (and member of the Aggies’ Hall of Fame) and is the mother of two sons (Jordan and Brandon).
