
WOMEN TENNIS DEFEATS BOISE STATE, 4-3

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Senior Morgan Sall won her second straight match in a week clinching the University of Colorado women's tennis team to a 4-3 win over No. 60 Boise State University, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match hosted by the University of New Mexico.
The Buffaloes, ranked No. 48 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll won their third straight and improves to 6-3. The Broncos fall to 8-3.
CU claimed the doubles point and a 1-0 lead taking the No. 1 and No. 2 slots by 8-3 and 8-6 margins. Sall and Jessica Vanderdys won their fifth match of the spring in six tries, while Kendra Strandemo and Lynsee Kever remained unbeaten (3-0) at No. 2.
In singles, Kever rolled to her sixth win in eight matches at No. 1 taking a 6-3, 6-0 match; while Strandemo and Sall collected victories at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively. Strandemo, defended her No. 3 slot winning her fourth match out of five taking a 6-0, 6-4 winner, while Sall rolled to an opening set win of 6-1, then fought of her opponent for a 7-6(4) clincher in the second set.
“Morgan (Sall) won the last point,”” said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally. “We fought hard, but didn't play our best tennis. We're excited to play New Mexico on Sunday.”
Colorado (6-3) plays the host Lobos on Sunday, March 7.
