
Women's Tennis Falls To No. 46 Denver

DENVER ? The University of Colorado women's tennis team dropped their fifth straight match falling 6-1 to No. 46 Denver, Saturday at the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion. The Pioneers swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point and then won five of six singles matches to seal the victory.
The Pioneers have won seven straight matches and improve to 12-2, while the Buffaloes fall to 7-10 and have lost eight of their last nine. All five losses have been on the road with four of five against nationally ranked teams.
In the series dominated by CU since 1975, Denver has won the last two matches and only four times in 29 meetings.
Gleisy Torres Torres was the lone CU winner of the day at No. 6 singles. Torres Torres took a 7-5, 6-4 winner over Marisa Mechem. The freshman from Venezuela has won three of her last four matches for her 14th win of the year and eighth of the dual season.
CU returns to Big 12 Conference play at Kansas on April 16 and Kansas State on April 17.
