
CU Women's Tennis Falls at Home to No. 67 Kansas State, 4-3

BOULDER - The University of Colorado women's tennis team was upset by No. 67 Kansas State as they fell to the Wildcats, 4-3 Saturday at the Ranch Country Club in Westminster, Colo. Colorado drops to 7-4 overall and is now 1-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Sophomore Veera Nurmi, who has won seven of her last eight matches, picked up her fourth straight victory, as she leads the Buffaloes with a team-high 17 wins this season.
Colorado's Gleisy Torres Torres picked up her third straight win, and improves to 10-4 on the season, as she defeated
Freshman Franziaska Jendrian posted Colorado's third singles win of the day as she battled back from a first-set loss to beat Kansas State's Fernanda Da Valle, 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). Jendrian has won seven of her last eight matches and improves to 13-9 on the season.
While CU leads the all-time series between the two schools, 18-9, Kansas State (5-2, 1-1) has now won five out of the last seven matches since 2000.
The Buffaloes are 3-3 in matches decided by a 4-3 decision this spring season.
Colorado will hit the road for the first time in Big 12 Conference play as they take on Iowa State on Friday, March 10 at 3 p.m.
