
Tennis Falls 4-3 to No. 30 Texas A&M

The loss drops CU to 7-10 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The Aggies have won four of their last five matches improving to 12-6 overall and 6-1 in the conference.
Camila Belassi, Veera Nurmi and Franziska Jendrian all claimed singles wins for the Buffaloes, however, the doubles point was the deciding factor in the loss and marks the third time this season the doubles point proved to be the difference. CU has lost six matches this season decided by 4-3 decisions and in the last four years have played 31 matches decided by that margin, winning 14 of them.
In singles, Belassi and Jendrian each won in straight sets for their fifth win in seven conference matches. Belassi defeated Christi Liles 7-5, 7-6(8) at No. 2 singles, while Jendrian cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Marisa Druss at No. 6.
Nurmi recorded her 69th career singles match victory moving into a tie for 15th place on the school's all-time wins list. Nurmi also won her 24th Big 12 Conference match moving into a tied for second place at CU. The senior from
In doubles, Texas A&M began the day securing the point taking two of three matches. CU managed a win at No. 1 doubles behind Belassi and Monica Milewski defeating the team of Anna Blagodarova and Tiffany Clifford, 8-3. It was Belassi/Milewski's fifth win of the spring and fourth conference victory.
CU had their chances at the No. 3 doubles slot holding a 7-5 advantage, however A&M's Stephanie Davidson and Morgan Frank fought off a pair of match points and defeated Gleisy Torres Torres and Abbie Probert, 9-7. A&M remained unbeaten in conference play at No. 3 doubles improving to 7-0.
