Colorado-Kansas Notes
January 13, 2011 | Women's Basketball
Colorado recorded a season-low 12 turnovers, but also dished out a season-low eight assists. Colorado also tied season-lows for free-throws made (five) and attempted (11). The Buffaloes set season-lows for 3-point field-goals made (three) and percentage (.176).
This was the first time in six games this season where Colorado won the turnover battle, but didn't win the game (5-1). Kansas committed 16 turnovers to just 12 for CU.
Colorado trailed 32-31 at halftime. The Buffaloes are 0-6 this season when trailing at the half.
Senior Brittany Spears (16 pts, 10 reb) and sophomore Chucky Jeffery (23 pts, 10 reb) each had double-doubles. It's the third time this season the Buffaloes have had two players with double-doubles in the same game (Santa Clara, Loyola Chicago).
Spears records her fifth double-double of the season and 27th in her career. Jeffery notches her seventh double-double of the season, eighth of her career.
Spears had six field goals, passing former All-Big Eight performer and current Director of Basketball Operations Tracy Tripp for fourth place on CU's all-time list. Spears now has 656 career field goals, Tripp had 654 from 1985-89.
Jeffery tied a career-high with 11 field goals (Texas State) and established a new career high with 19 field goal attempts.
Jeffery, who had six steals tonight, now has six or more steals in four games this year.
