Andrinopoulos and Huang Still Alive at ITA Regionals

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - A duo of University of Colorado women's tennis players are still alive at the ITA Regional championships.

WHAT HAPPENED: SINGLES
Freshman Linda Huang is stepping up with a solid showing so far in Salt Lake City. Huang has knocked off three opponents to advance to the round of eight. She started off with a bye in the In the round of 64 but on Thursday defeated Mboko of Denver in the round of 32 in a tough three set score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. The freshman went on to defeat Kenia of UNLV in three sets (2-6, 6-1, 6-1) to advance to the round of eight. Huang will take on Nassik of SUU who defeated Pletcher of Utah 6-3, 6-2.

In the round of 64, Brigitte Beck took down Kincaid from Montana in two quick sets 6-4, 6-4 to advance but fell 6-4, 6-1 in the round of 32 to Zhang of UNLV.

Annabelle Andrinopoulos took down Washington State's Pilzova 6-2, 6-3 but fell to Abramyan (BYU) 7-5, 6-3 in the round of 32.

Junior Ilana Oleynik fell to Deimerath of USU 7-5, 6-1 in the round of 64.

DOUBLES:
The duo of Andrinopoulos and Huang are still alive in the Doubles Draw. They took down Kickason/Pilzova of Washington state in an 8-1 match to advance. CU then battled against USU's team of Omeara/Taylor and won 8-1. Anrinopoulos and Huang will now face Fumagalli/Barnicle of (AFA) who defeated Wyoming's double team 8-3.

Jeannez Daniel and Brigitte Beck also competed in the doubles draw beating out Washington State's Herb/Parker8-7 then fell to Utah 8-4.
