Colorado Takes on No. 24 Louisville: Five Things to Know

The Buffs host the Cardinals to start the five-game homestand

BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team returns home on Saturday, opening its season-long five-game homestand against No. 24 Louisville. The Buffaloes' homestand will keep the team at home throughout December.   
 
Colorado (6-1) has won four straight contests and is coming off an 85-73 win over Utah Tech. Sara-Rose Smith scored a career-high 21 points and added 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. The Buffs had four players in double figures for the first time this season.
 
Louisville (4-2) has won its last two games entering Saturday. The Cardinals opened the season ranked No. 17 but have dropped two games against then No. 5 UCLA and then No. 20 Kentucky early in the season. Louisville has nine newcomers this
season, including eight true freshmen. Their freshman class was ranked No. 6 by ESPN.
 
The Buffs and Cardinals have met twice previously, and the series is split at one game apiece. Louisville won the last meeting in 2013, while Colorado won the first meeting in Boulder in 2012.

  4. SRS9 – Sara-Rose Smith registered career-highs in points (21) and FGM (10) at Utah Tech. She recorded her second double-double as a Buff (10 reb) and the eighth of her career.
  5. Back in the Five Frida Formann made her first start of the season at Utah Tech. She scored 10 points in her return to the starting five. It was the 105th start of her career.
