Celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day at CU on February 2

BOULDER, Colo. – The University of Colorado Athletic Department is excited to host National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the CU Events Center. This inspiring celebration will highlight the contributions and achievements of women in sports and provide an engaging experience for fans of all ages.

The festivities will take place prior to and during the Colorado Women's Basketball game against Texas Tech tipping off at 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to join the Buffs in honoring the incredible impact of women in sports, both on and off the court.

Event Highlights Include:

  • Pre-Game Activities: Interactive stations featuring CU's women's sports teams, giving young fans the chance to meet student-athletes, participate in fun activities, and learn more about various sports.
  • Recognition Ceremony: Special halftime recognition celebrating CU's women's basketball teams and coaches who have paved the way for future generations.

What is NGWSD?
National Girls & Women in Sports Day, established in 1987, is a nationwide celebration of the achievements of female athletes and an opportunity to encourage girls and women to participate in sports and physical activity. This annual event serves as a reminder of the positive influence sports have on building confidence, leadership, and teamwork.
