Senior (2000): Matassa started all 19 games in the midfield as a senior, scoring two goals and earning three assists for seven points. She had a point in back-to-back games in early-September, assisting on Melissa Cartmell’s goal in a 1-0 win over Cornell on Sept. 8, and scoring the game-tying goal in the 70th minute of a 2-1 win over Central Connecticut. She also scored a goal at Texas on Sept. 22 and had two assists in a 2-0 win over Texas Tech on Oct. 27.
 
Junior (1999): Matassa started all 14 games she played in before suffering a season-ending injury in early-October. She finished with three assists on the season, earning helpers against UAB, Air Force and Oklahoma.

Sophomore (1998): Was once again a stalwart in the Colorado midfield, starting all 19 games she was eligible for. Matassa was the fourth leading Buffalo scorer, notching five points on two goals and one assist on 20 shots. Scored to close the gap in an eventual 5-2 loss at BYU on Sept. 11, and netted the lone goal in a 1-1 tie with LSU on Sept.18. Notched her assist in the 4-1 win over George Washington on Sept. 6. The five points moved her to fifth on the career chart with 10 total points, and the two goals moved her to fifth on the career goals chart with four total.
 
Freshman (1997): Despite sitting out a four-game stretch in the middle of the season while nursing injuries, Matassa was the team's fifth­-leading scorer with five points on two goals and an assist. She started each of the 14 games she played in, and registered a season-high four shots against Denver on Nov. 2. 

High School: A four-year letterwinner for head coach Burt Schroeder and Mullen, Matassa was an all-state selection her sophomore through senior seasons (second team as a sophomore and junior, first team as a senior). She was also named all-Centennial League following each of her final three seasons as a prep, time she spent as Mullen's Most Valuable Player as well. Matassa was Mullen's captain as a senior, when she won the Team Leadership Award for her efforts. She scored nine goals and added seven assists as a senior, had seven goals and eight assists as a junior, seven goals and 10 assists as a sophomore and six goals and 10 assists as a freshman from her center mid spot, giving her a career tally of 29 goals and 35 assists (93 points) in her four years as a prep. Mullen made it to the state semifinals her freshman through junior seasons and, overall, the team compiled a 48-27 (.640) record over her career. She was also an Olympic Development Program participant, on both the state and regional level. 

Personal: Matassa was also recruited by Texas, New Mexico, San Diego State, Marquette and Cornell University. She was an academic all-star in high school, as she spent her entire prep career on the "A" honor roll, and received Mullen's "Torch Award" for academic excellence. She was also named the recipient of the school's Excellence in English and Excellence in Math awards and was a member of the National Honor Society. Matassa was active outside the classroom in high school as well, donating time to Amnesty International, the Senior Leadership Council and Mullen's Big Sister program. She is majoring in anthropology at Colorado, but is also interested in journalism. Matassa also earned first-team academic all-Big 12 honors in 1998.
