
Bianco, Mathison Earn All-Big 12 Honors on Day Two in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Kan. — The Colorado Buffaloes wrapped up day two of the 2025 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday at Rock Chalk Park with several strong performances, including a pair of All-Big 12 finishes and a finals qualifier in the 800 meters.
Nick Bianco climbed from 10th place to finish fifth in the decathlon, earning All-Big 12 honors. His performance was highlighted by a second-place finish in the pole vault (5.01m) and a time of 4:36.64 in the 1,500 meters to close out the competition.
Kole Mathison earned All-Big 12 honors in the steeplechase with a fifth-place finish in 8:41.62, staying with the front pack throughout the race.
Drew Costelow ran a personal best of 1:49.40 in the 800 meters, qualifying for the final based on time.
In the heptathlon, Eva Bruce, Riley Burkey and Ava Goetz completed day two of competition. Burkey closed with the fastest time in the 800 meters (2:12.22), while Bruce recorded a personal best of 2:16.32.
Helen Carlson ran a personal best of 2:07.17 in the women's 800 meters, placing 10th and narrowly missing the final.
