Assini Added to the Tewaaraton Watch List

WASHINGTON, D.C. – For No. 15 Colorado lacrosse, senior midfielder Lily Assini was added to the watch list for the Tewaaraton Award presented by Stifel, the organization announced on Thursday, Mar. 26.
Assini joins senior attacker Maddie Shoup, sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh and senior defender Jess Peluso on the watch list.
The Tewaaraton Award, which was founded in 2001, annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. Premier collegiate coaches are appointed by The Tewaaraton Foundation to the selection committees.
Assini has made major contributions on both offense and defense. She has made at least one goal in each game this season and scored two or more points in eight of the nine games played so far. Against UConn, Assini reached a career-high six points from four goals and two assists (Mar. 18).
In addition to her points, Assini has reached 14 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers this season. She matched her career-high three caused turnovers against Army on Mar. 1.
The Buffs will take on No. 5 Florida in Orlando, Fla., on Saturday, April 4. First draw is set for 10 a.m. MT.
