Buffs complete competitive five-match spring slate
BOULDER – The Colorado volleyball team closed out its spring season last weekend, wrapping up a five-scrimmage slate designed to challenge the roster and build momentum ahead of the 2026 campaign.
Following the conclusion of the 2025 season, the Buffs quickly returned to the court with an emphasis on development, lineup flexibility, and integrating a talented group of newcomers. Across a month of competition, Colorado faced a mix of in-state opponents in a series of high-energy, competitive environments.
Spring play opened on March 28 in Greeley, Colo., where the Buffs took part in a doubleheader against Northern Colorado and Wyoming. The quick turnaround between matches created a fast-paced setting that tested endurance and adaptability, while also providing an early look at some of Colorado's freshman class against experienced competition.
The Buffs returned home on April 4 to host Colorado State, continuing to build rhythm and on-court chemistry. The match-up offered another opportunity to experiment with rotations and fine-tune systems in front of a home audience.
Colorado wrapped up its spring slate with a demanding stretch on April 18. The Buffs made their way up to Fort Collins, Colo., for two scrimmages – one versus Denver and the other against CSU. The same-day turnaround mirrored the intensity of the regular season and capped off a full day of competition.
Across all five scrimmages, the Buffs prioritized growth—focusing on consistency, communication, and competitive toughness at every position. The spring season provided valuable reps for both returners and newcomers, laying the groundwork for continued development in the months ahead.
With spring play complete, Colorado now turns its attention to offseason training, carrying forward the experience and momentum gained throughout a challenging and productive schedule. The Buffs also have their eyes ahead to the recently released 2026 Big 12 schedule, which fans can view here. The team looks forward to bringing on two other freshmen going into the fall
