As a Junior in 2003...

After coming off the bench in the first two matches of the season, Barnes was the starting setter for the final 29 contests. She shared time with true freshman Ashley Nu’u as CU featured a two-setter offense over the final 10 matches of the season. Barnes excelled on the back-row portion of the two-setter rotation, using her serving and passing abilities. She led the squad in aces (33) and aces per game (0.33), and was one of three Buffs to average over two digs per game. Barnes topped the Buffs in assists with 1,042, the 13th highest single-season mark in team history, and ranked eighth in the Big 12 Conference in assists per game (10.32). Barnes set career highs in nearly every major statistical category. One of her biggest nights came at Texas A&M (9/24) where she set personal bests with 63 assists, 16 digs and four service aces.
