Kritza on Henry
Ellen is a very high energy player who has the capacity to play an important role in this team’s success in both the libero or defensive specialist position.
As a sophomore in 2008
Henry played in 23 sets over 12 matches for Colorado, including one start. She saw her most action against No. 3 Texas (10/11) recording a season-high six digs. Henry also recorded a .963 reception percentage with just one error on 27 receptions in the match. On the season, Henry only mishandled four serves for a .942 reception percentage.
As a freshman in 2007
Henry played in 26 matches, starting in 10. She was one of CU’s most consistent passers and played an important part in the back row. Henry picked up a career-high 14 digs against Baylor (10/20). She averaged 1.53 digs per game and ranked fifth on the team. Henry also had seven assists and three aces on the year.
High School
Henry high school team won the 2004, 05, 06 and 07 CIF Moore League Championships. As a junior, her 2005 Cal Juniors squad won the junior Olympics. Henry earned several awards as a senior. She was named to the All-Moore League first team, Varsity Moore League Champs and the All-Moore League Best Defensive Player. She served as the captain in 2005 and 06. In 2004, she was named the Wilson Junior Varsity MVP.
