Bio
College—2024-25 (Fr.): He enjoyed a fine debut as a true freshman, as his 72.62 stroke average was the fifth-best by a freshman in school history (his 71.83 figure in 12 rounds in the fall was the third-best by a freshman for a fall season) … He played in seven tournaments overall, as an individual in each … In his third collegiate event, he finished under par in CU’s Simpson Invitational (214, -2), and of the 18 freshmen in the event, he tied for second among them … Then in his fourth tournament, he tied for 14th for his first top 20 finish with a 9-under 204 in the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate; in the third round, he became the first known Buffalo to record three eagles in a single round (which he did on the front nine when he shot a 33 en route to a 5-under 67). That helped him play the nine par-5s over the three rounds at a collective 10-under par … He opened the Ka’anapali with his collegiate best 66 (5-under), which was within a run of ending the fall season with five rounds of par or better … His first college round in the 60’s – a bogey-free 3-under 69 in the second round of the Simpson, was bookended by three holes ending the first and opening the third to give him 24 straight holes of par or better … Best effort in the spring was a 2-over 218 in Wyoming’s Desert Intercollegiate, where he tied for 34th … He was consistent across the board, with averages of 72.14 (first round), 72.86 (second) and 72.71 (third) … For the year, only had seven out of 378 holes worse than bogey (all doubles).
High School—A four-time state Wyoming high school champion: as a senior he won by two strokes (68-65—133, -11) in 2023; he won by 19 strokes as a junior in 2022 (65-72--137, -5); as a sophomore in 2021, he cruised to a 16-stroke win (66-64—130, -12) and in 2020 as a freshman, he won by three strokes (70-68—138, -6). That figures to a 67.3 average for eight rounds in the state high school meet …. He led Riverton to the 3A state title in 2021, 2022 and 2023 … Was undefeated in all high school meets as a freshman and went on to win 21 of 22 prep tournaments in his career (all five as a senior as well) … WyoPreps.com selected him as its athlete of the year … In the 2022 3A East Regional, he carded a 67-69—136 (-8) score to win medalist honors by an unreal 24 strokes … A three-time recipient of the Lew Lepore Award as Wyoming’s high school golfer-of-the-year (sophomore through senior seasons) … He was more than an accomplished point guard in basketball: he averaged 19.9 points and 3.1 rebounds as a senior, with 15 games of 20-plus points and three 30-plus efforts … That followed his junior season (’22-23) when he was Wyoming’s Gatorade Player-of-the-Year as well as the state’s 4A Player-of-the-Year, averaging 18.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game, shooting 40 percent from 3-point range and 85 percent from the line. He scored 20 or more points 11 times with a high of 30 against Star Valley in the 4A state consolation championship game … Averaged 13.1 points and 3.1 rebounds as a sophomore … He scored 1,466 points for his career, averaging 15.0 over 98 games.
Other—2025: Won the Wyoming State Amateur on his home course (Riverton Country Club), by three strokes with a 67-71-68—206 (-10) scorecard; it earned him an exemption into August’s U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club (Ocean Course) in San Francisco (where he missed the cut, turning in an 80-77—157, +17) … He finished 13th in the Sizzler Amateur with a 5-under scorecard of 68-70-73—211 … Was tied for second in the Southwestern Amateur through three rounds (72-66-69—207, -9), but withdrew to attend his grandfather’s funeral … Tied for 27th in the Pacific Coast Amateur at Eugene Country Club (74-72-70-73—289, +5). 2024: Medalist in stroke play qualifying for the Wyoming Match Play (68, -4), earning the No. 1 seed and went on to win it for the third time (in 20 holes over Taj Sutherland), just the second player to win it three times in the 48-year history of the event … Runner-up in the Wyoming Amateur (67-71-72—210, -6), one stroke back, at Purple Sage Golf Course in Evanston … Finished third and was the low amateur in the Saltwater Classic (69-70-68—207; -9); his older brother Easton won it … Tied for 51st in the Pacific Coast Amateur (72-78-67-73—290, +6). 2023: Tied for second in the Junior Americas Cup (70-64-69—203, -10, one back of the lead) … Won the Wyoming State Amateur by three strokes (69-67—136, -8) … Seeded No. 1 after tying in the stroke play qualifier for the Wyoming State Match Play (72, E), he went on to win all five matches to claim the title for a second time … Just missed advancing to the match play portion of the U.S. Junior Amateur (72-73—145, +2), eliminated in the first hole of a playoff … Qualified for the U.S. Amateur in Denver, but missed the cut (77-81—158). 2022: Finished fifth for the second straight year in the Wyoming State Amateur (69-74-70—212, -4) … He won the qualifier for the U.S. Open in Riverton (2-under 70) to advance to the sectionals in Oregon, where he opened with a 73 but was disqualified in the second round. 2021: Seeded No. 7, he won the Wyoming State Match Play as a 15-year old … Finished fifth in the Wyoming State Amateur (72-68-72—212) … Qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur where he lost in a playoff to miss advancing to match play. 2020: As a 14-year old, he tied for fourth in the Wyoming State Amateur (67-70-73—210, -6).
