Bio
WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
“Here comes Ralphie!” echoes through the stadium and fills the stand with such excitement. Watching the football games, I fell in love with Ralphie and knew that this was something I wanted to be a part of. As a student here at CU, I knew that I wanted to be involved in the community and make an impact. Being a Ralphie Handler became a dream of mine. I knew that this program would allow me to blend my love for animals and athletics, and there is also no other place in the world where you get the opportunity to run a buffalo. I wanted to be a part of this tradition because of how fulfilling and rewarding it is to be a part of this program.
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie represents the spirit and tradition of CU. She brings the CU community together and embodies the pride of students, faculty, and alumni. She is the beating heart and soul of the University of Colorado. Ralphie is the greatest tradition in college football history.
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part of being a Ralphie Handler is managing my schedule with all the training, practices, game days, and extra events.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The team is the best part of being a Ralphie Handler. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of a culture that pushes me to be the best version of myself and fosters a supportive and encouraging environment. This is the most positive and inspiring environment I have ever been a part of, and that’s thanks to our coaches Taylor and Colton. My team and the buffalo have become family, and I am forever appreciative of this opportunity. We all recognize what an honor it is to be on this team, and that makes it so special.
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
People are surprised about the amount of hours and dedication we put into the program. As varsity athletes here at CU, we have afternoon practices twice a week with the buffalo and running and lifting twice a week. I also love to spend time with her at the ranch when I can!
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
I was really surprised that a buffalo could have a personality. She is so playful, loving and sweet with a side of sass. I love that I get to build a unique relationship with her.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling, playing pickleball, and building Legos.
