WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
Growing up in Colorado and having family members who went to CU, I always knew about (and loved) Ralphie’s Run, but I didn’t know that I could try out for the program until the summer before my freshman year when I talked to a former Handler. That’s when I decided to try out.
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Thinking back to my first ever CU football game, I remember hearing “HERE COMES RALPHIE” over the loudspeakers, and the entire crowd lit up. She fires up the stadium every time she runs, and it’s very inspiring to see. Ralphie is strong, fast, and proud, and she represents our school perfectly.
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part about being a Ralphie Handler is definitely the workouts. They’re a level of physical exertion that I’d never experienced before, and it definitely took me a while to get used to the intensity.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
I’m guessing everyone else said something about being a part of an amazing tradition, or how awesome the people on the team are, but they’re all lying. The best part of being a Ralphie Handler is definitely our access to the athletic dining hall. The chefs up there are real pros.

I’ve found that people are often surprised by how much we practice and workout. I think it’s because the Ralphie Handler program is such a unique thing, people don’t really know what to expect.
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
I was really surprised at how sweet and smart she is. When I first met her, she pretty much ignored me since I was a stranger, but now she knows me and my voice and lets me scratch her behind the ears.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
In my free time I really like to ski, workout, hang with friends, and play video games.
