2009 Spring (sophomore): Did not participate in singles dual play • Played one doubles at No. 3 on Jan. 17 against LSU • Won 12 doubles and eight singles matches over her two years.
2008 Fall (sophomore): Excelled on the doubles court winning six of eight matches • Won three matches with Abbie Probert and a pair with Madie Kern • Picked up another victory with Shannon Young from Air Force and pair of singles victories in straight sets.
2008 Spring (freshman): Did not play.
2007 Fall (freshman): Started her initial season with a 6-6 singles record • Won four straight matches, three of those at the Colorado Invitational (Sept. 28-30) • One of three women to win six or more doubles matches • Teamed with Victoria Almagno for a trio of wins; two with Veera Nurmi, the other with Franziska Jendrian.
Asheville High School: A three-sport standout lettering four times in tennis, three in track and field and once in cross country • Named tennis most valuable player all four years and was a two-time coaches award selection • Lost only one match during her high school career (freshman year), achieving an incredible 81-1 record • Owns prep record of fastest serve at 110 m.p.h. • 2006 team captain • Track M.V.P. three years • Holds the school record for fastest 300-meter hurdles time (47.00 seconds) and pole vault (10'6") • Junior year placed fourth in the state of North Carolina in the pole vault and eighth in the 300-meters; In 2005, placed first in Western North Carolina in the pole vault and 300m hurdles • In her only year running cross country helped team to a runner up finish at the 2006 state championships (17th individually) taking the place of an injured teammate • Received top-20 award for academic achievements freshman, sophomore, and junior years • Two-time member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Born Christiane Pheil on May 21, 1989 in St. Petersburg, Fla. • Daughter of David and Carlyn Pheil • Has two older brothers, Kevin and Christopher • Grandfather played football at the University of Florida; great aunt was a swimmer at Rollins College • Enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, juggling, cooking and writing music • Lists biggest moment of her high school career was finishing second at state cross country championships when predicted not to finish in the top five; Also lists getting "the phone call" from Coach Kenneally, offering her a scholarship at CU.
