As a Senior in 2017
Shadley had a new role for the Buffs in her senior campaign, serving as one of the three captains. She started in three matches for the Buffs, but she spent most of her season as a spark off the bench. Her efforts as a dependable reserve as a hitter, passer, and serving specialist helped lead the Buffs to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament. Shadley saw action in the season opener against Northwestern State (8/25), but her best performance of the season came in the win over Abilene Christian (9/3) where she recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs. Also a force in the classroom, Shadley receive Academic All-Pac-12 Second team honors. Shadley ends her career with 326 kills, 487 digs, and 54 total blocks.
 
As a Junior in 2016
After struggling with injuries her first two seasons, Shadley was finally healthy and ready to take a bigger role in CU’s line-up. She earned a starting position right away and started in all 30 of CU’s matches. From the start, Shadley was ready to make an impact, recording 15 kills, six digs and two aces in the first match of the season against Texas Tech (8/26). The next match against Portland State (8/27) saw Shadley increase her kills production, tallying a career-high 18; she also earned her first of seven double-doubles of the season with 11 digs and added five blocks. Her second career double-double came against Colorado State (9/17) when she recorded 13 kills and 13 digs in CU’s first win against the Rams since 2002. During the campaign, Shadley reached 10 or more kills 10 times and reached 10 or more digs 15 times. She picked up a career-best 19 digs against then-No. 12 UCLA and added 15 kills. Shadley recorded 258 kills, 12 assists, 19 aces, 276 digs and 40 blocks during the season in 116 of 121 possible sets.
 
As a Sophomore in 2015
Shadley played in 24 of CU’s 32 contests and played in a variety of positons from a serving specialist, to a defensive specialist, to an outside hitter.  Her best match of the season was against Arizona State (11/12). Shadley came into the match as an outside hitter and tallied a season-best six kills, nine digs and two blocks while hitting .235, helping the Buffs upset then-No. 21 ASU in five sets. Shadley also recorded nine digs earlier in the season against Sam Houston State (9/11). In total, she recorded 54 digs, 15 kills and four aces during the campaign.
 
As a Freshman in 2014
Shadley saw action in 25 of CU’s 34 matches, playing in 72 sets mostly as a defensive and serving specialist. She recorded 91 digs and 17 aces during the year. Shadley ranked 10th in the Pac-12 in service aces, averaging 0.24 per set. She recorded a career-best eight kills in her CU debut against Northwestern (8/29) and notched her best hitting efficiency of .385 (7k-2e-13att) against Robert Morris (9/13). Shadley also picked up nine digs twice against NU (8/29) and at Oregon (9/27).
 
High School
Shadley helped the Eagles finish the 2013 season with a 39-5 overall record and they won their second straight state championship. The Eagles also won the state title in 2012 after compiling a 36-3 record. Shadley was named the volleyball district MVP her junior and senior years. As a senior, she was also named all-district first team and all-state first team and averaged a monstrous 4.3 kills per set earned the distinction of being named to PrepVolleyball's Soph79, which highlight the top 79 players in the country. During Shadley’s junior year, she was also named to the all-state first team.
 
She was also a member of the basketball and track teams at PPCS. She has been a two year first team all-district and all-state performer, as well as the district MVP in basketball and in track, Shadley competes in the high jump, pole vault, 400 and 800-meter runs, as well as the 4x400-meter relay where she is a two-time Texas state champion. 
 
Shadley also played club volleyball for the Madfrog team in Dallas, Texas.
 
Personal
Stephanie Lynn Shadley was born on February 28, 1996 in Dallas, Texas. She is the daughter of Jim and Charisse Shadley. Her mother played basketball at Grayson College and her older sister, Jessica, was a combined events athlete on the track team at Baylor, earning All-Big 12 honors in 2013. Her brother Michael attended Texas A&M. She enjoys hunting and horseback riding and has done missionary work in Uganda.
 
Academics
Shadley earned degrees in communication and the classics and finished with a GPA greater than 3.50. She was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team in 2015 and was a second team member in 2016 and 17.
