Heather Cracraft is in her fourth year as the executive assistant to athletic director Rick George, having returned on Nov. 1, 2018 to where she had previously worked two decades earlier.
She came back to CU from the Superior (Colo.) Chamber of Commerce, where she was the executive director since 2006. Her first stint with athletics came from 1995 through 1997 as the director of special events, one of the first to hold the position in the department.
A 1993 graduate of CU, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing). While a student, she was a member of the sports marketing club; she was a volunteer at the opening and ribbon cutting ceremony when the Dal Ward Center opened in August 1991.
Cracraft interned with the Colorado Rockies her senior year, and after graduation, she was hired full-time by the club in their ticket office. She was on the staff when the franchise began play in 1993 at Mile High Stadium, when the team drew what remains a major league record of just under 4.5 million in attendance (only three other teams have ever reached the four million mark). She was also a club staffer when Coors Field opened in 1995 before returning to her alma mater.
A native of Newport Beach, Calif., she graduated from Corona Del Mar High School where she lettered in softball. Her hobbies include gardening, finding fun and creative things to do in her spare time, and spending time with family and friends. She has two grown children, Austin and Abby.
