BOULDER ? Sophomore outside hitter Nicole Carr had 19 kills and a career-high tying 24 digs to lead Colorado to a five-game win over Missouri, Saturday night at the Coors Events Conference Center. Game scores were 30-22, 21-30, 30-21, 17-30, 16-14.

Colorado improves to 20-8 overall, notching its first 20-win season since 1998. The Buffs, who have won five-straight and seven of their last eight, are currently tied with No. 21 Texas A&M for third in the Big 12 at 12-6. Texas A&M was swept by Kansas on Saturday in Lawrence, Kan. Missouri falls to 18-10 overall, 11-8 in league play.

"This was a huge one for us," CU head coach Pi'i Aiu said. "We need quality wins and we're getting quality wins. We are practicing well and playing well. The kids are doing a really good job and that was a great one for us."

Carr recorded 20-plus digs for the fifth time this season, equaling her career-best which she achieved against Texas-Arlington in 2002. Her 19 kills led all players and were just one shy of her personal best of 20, also set against UT-Arlington. Carr registered her team-best 15^th double-double in 2003 which also ranks fourth in the Big 12.

Four Buffs recorded double-doubles. Sophomore middle blocker Allie Griffin had 16 kills and a career-high 10 digs to go along with a team-high five blocks. Senior middle Monique Gerlach had 15 kills and 10 digs, while freshman opposite hitter Austin Zimmerman had 10 kills and 11 digs.

Missouri had four players reach double-digits in kills led by Jessica Vander Kooi who had 17. Shen Danru had 16 kills and a team-high 16 digs.

Colorado will close out its home schedule by hosting No. 10 Nebraska on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. at the CECC.
