CU picked up their two points with Abbie Probert and Michala Hedelund Jensen securing the No. 5 and No. 6 positions in straight sets. Probert defeated Hanna Robinson, 6-2, 7-5 for her first win of the dual season and picked up her fourth triumph of the year.
Hedelund Jensen also picked up her first victory of the spring and sixth of the 2008-9 season.
“I'm happy the way we fought today against a good LSU team,” said CU head coach Nicole Kenneally. “We played through some tough points and happy the way we kept fighting throughout. The team is working hard and we're looking forward to our next match against South Florida.”
CU played without the nation's No. 110 ranked player, Monica Milewski due to injury.
Junior Melisa Esposito battled with the nation's No. 5 ranked player, Megan Falcon, 6-2, 7-5 at the top singles slot.
Colorado will take to the road for the next five matches spanning three states. The next road match is Jan. 25 in Albuquerque, N.M. taking on South Florida.
