BOULDER - The University of Colorado Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is teaming up with "Coats For Colorado," a program to help distribute gently used and new coats to individuals and families in need in Colorado.  CU will host drop off points for the program at select home events in the coming weeks.
  • Saturday, September 26, 2009 - Volleyball vs. Oklahoma, 7 p.m., Coors Events Center
  • Sunday, September 27, 2009 - Soccer vs. Iowa State, 1 p.m., Prentup Field
  • Saturday, October 17, 2009 - Football vs. Kansas, TBA, Several Locations

Last year was the first year that CU's SAAC program teamed up with Coats for Colorado.  CU was able to collect over 200 coats for the program in the first year.  At the soccer and volleyball events, SAAC members will be collecting coats one hour prior to the start of the game.

For CU's football game on October 17, several locations for drop off will be available.  The drop off stations will begin collecting when the gates open.  Locations include:

  • Duane Physics Building
  • Franklin Field
  • Math Building
  • Parking Lot 360 (across from gates 4 and 5).

Coats For Colorado has distributed coats since 1982.  Beginning October 1, people can drop off coats at several metro area locations.  For more information, please visit www.coatsforcolorado.org.  Coats for Colorado distributed 77,000 coats in 2008 and over 1.6 million since 1982.
