BOULDER – Barrington Hargress and Jon Mani have signed Financial Aid Agreements to join the University of Colorado men's basketball team for the 2025-26 season head coach Tad Boyle announced on Wednesday.
Hargress, a 6-foot guard from Inglewood, Calif., played the last two seasons at UC Riverside. Mani, a 6-6 guard from Los Angeles, joins the Buffaloes after a season at Denver.
Hargress averaged 16.4 points and 4.3 assists over 68 career games for UC Riverside. He was an All-Big West Conference First Team selection as a sophomore, leading the conference and ranking ninth in the nation in scoring at 20.2 points per game. Hargress set UC Riverside's single-season scoring record with 686 points, helping the Highlanders to a 21-13 record and a Postseason NIT bid. He scored at least 20 points 19 times, including a school-record tying 40 against Big West Champion and NCAA Tournament participant UC San Diego.
"A very productive guard that's extremely talented," Boyle said. He's exactly what we needed in the portal in terms of getting a guy that's going to score and pass the ball. He's experienced, which is important as well. He can play on and off the ball. With the guys we have coming back and coming in with our freshman class, he'll be a great compliment to them."
The 2023-24 Big West Freshman of the Year, Hargress led the Highlanders at 12.6 points and 4.5 assists per game following a redshirt season in UC Riverside program. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Mani played in 30 of 32 games as a true freshman at Denver, averaging 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in just under 14 minutes per contest. He made six starts, coming in the last seven games of the season. He scored a season-high nine points hitting 3 of 5 from the field, including a pair of 3-pointers, against North Dakota on Jan. 9.
"Jon's a bigger guard that can pass, dribble and shoot," Boyle said. "He had a very good year as a freshman and got better as the year went on. He's a guy that can compete right away to help us out next year because his skill set really translates well to the way we play. He's got a very unique skill set in terms of being able to do everything pretty well."
Mani was Denver's highest-ranked recruit in its modern NCAA Division I era. He was hailed as a top 25 player in the state of California at Beverly Hills High School. Mani has three years of eligibility remaining, plus a red-shirt season if needed.
