Will Koch and Hanna Abrahamsson

Abrahamsson, Koch Named Academic All-American

July 15, 2025 | Skiing

BOULDER—Two Colorado skiers, Hanna Abrahamsson and Will Koch, were both named to the 2025 At-Large Academic All-American team, with Koch earning first-team honors and Abrahamsson earning a second-team nod.

In almost an exact reversal of last season when Abrahamsson was first-team and Kock second-team, they flipped this year when Koch was named to the first-team of the men's team and Abrahamsson earned second-team honors.

She is a three-time Academic All-American, also earning second-team honors back in 2023.  She is just the second skier in CU history to earn three Academic All-America nods and the first to make the first- or second-team three times.  Andreas Haug was a three-time winner, third team in 2013, second in 2014 and first in 2015.

Koch, meanwhile, is just the fourth skier to earn more than one nod, joining Abrahamsson and Haug, and also Joey Young (third team in 2021, second in 2022).  And Koch picked up just the fourth first-team honor, joining Matt Gelso (2010), Haug (2015), and Abrahamsson last year.
