Buffs’ Acrisure Series Schedule Set
July 21, 2025 | Men's Basketball
BOULDER – Colorado men's basketball will open the 2025 Acrisure Holiday Classic with San Francisco, with a potential game against a former conference rival looming for the second day, as matchups for the entire Acrisure Series to be played at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif., were announced Monday.
The Buffaloes and Dons from the West Coast Conference are set to meet on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, at 12 p.m. MT. Colorado will then play either former Pac-12 Conference rival Washington or Nevada, out of the Mountain West Conference, as those two teams meet in the second game Thursday at 2:30 p.m. MT. Both games are scheduled to air live on CBS Sports Network.
The winners of those two games will meet in the championship game on Friday, Nov. 28, at 2:30 p.m. MT. The losers of Thursday's contests will tip off Friday's action with the consolation game at 12 p.m. Friday's games will air on truTV. Both Buffaloes games will air on the Colorado Radio Network.
The Acrisure Series returns to the Coachella Valley for its third consecutive year, reaffirming its position as the largest multi-team college basketball event in the nation. Set to take place from Nov. 25-28, the tournament will showcase over 20 NCAA Division I men's basketball programs competing at the highest level inside Acrisure Arena, the premier sports and entertainment venue in the Coachella Valley.
Tickets go on sale Friday, July 25, at 11 a.m. MT, through Ticketmaster.com. Admission includes access to all games on that date. Fan travel packages are available through AcrisureSeriesTravel.com.
The Acrisure Series will receive extensive national television coverage, with both TNT and CBS involved in showcasing the tournament. All games on Friday will air on truTV, while CBS Sports Network will broadcast a total of 11 games, including the final two matchups on Tuesday, as well as full-day coverage on both Wednesday and Thursday.
This will be the sixth meeting between Colorado and San Francisco and the first in 11 years. The Buffaloes hold a 3-2 series advantage, including a 72-55 win in Boulder on Dec. 3, 2014. The only neutral-site meeting in the series was historic for both programs, coming in the 1955 NCAA Final Four where Bill Russell's Dons defeated the Buffaloes led by Burdie Haldorson 62-50 in a national semifinal game as USF went on to win the championship.
Washington holds a 21-17 lead in its series with Colorado. The Buffaloes have won the last three, defeating the Huskies in the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament and then sweeping the two-game season series in 2023-24, Colorado's final run in the Pac-12. With that Pac-12 Tournament win, the Buffaloes hold a 3-2 advantage on a neutral court.
Colorado and Nevada have met four times, with the series tied 2-2. Colorado won a pair of home games on back-to-back dates, New Year's Eve 1937 (51-23) and New Year's Day 1938 (61-23). More than five decades later, Nevada claimed its wins in a home-and-home series, starting with a 78-68 win in Reno on Dec. 28, 1993, and edging the Buffaloes 92-91 in Boulder on Dec. 17, 1994.
