BOULDER – Colorado's Kaidon Salter and Dre'lon Miller have been named to the 13th annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List, announced by the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and SPORTyler.
Salter, a 6-foot-1 quarterback from Cedar Hill, Texas, graduated from Cedar Hill High School and transferred to Colorado from Liberty University, where he played four seasons. He totaled 5,887 passing yards and 56 touchdowns while also rushing for 2,063 yards and 21 touchdowns. His best season came in 2023, his first as a full-time starter, when he passed for 2,876 yards and 23 touchdowns and rushed for 1,089 yards and 12 scores, leading Liberty to an undefeated season. That year, he recorded 11 games with two or more total touchdowns.
Miller, a 6-1 wide receiver from Silsbee, Texas, graduated from Silsbee High School and put together a strong freshman campaign in 2024. He played in all 13 games, starting three. He became the first CU wide receiver in 10 years to start a season opener as a true freshman when he lined up against North Dakota State. Miller had the first two touches of the season, catching a pass from Shedeur Sanders on the opening play and rushing on the second. He finished the year with 32 receptions for 277 yards and three touchdowns, including a season-high six catches for 108 yards and a touchdown against Utah. At Silsbee, he helped his team to a 25-2 record over his final two seasons, including 52 catches for 1,010 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior.
Salter is one of 31 quarterbacks and Miller is one of 29 wide receivers represented on this year's watch list, which features 102 players from 73 schools across nine conferences and one independent program.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity, the persistence and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. Nominees must meet one or more of the following criteria: played football at and graduated from a Texas high school and/or are currently playing at a Texas Division I four-year college.
The watch list will be narrowed to up to 16 semifinalists in November and five finalists in December, selected by broadcasters, commentators, journalists, fans, and previous winners. The winner will be announced in December and honored at the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Banquet on Jan. 21, 2026, in Tyler, Texas.
