Jeremiah Brown Ready To Once Again Hear The Theme Music
August 23, 2025 | Football
BOULDER -- Jeremiah Brown, a linebacker for Colorado, has experienced a lot of growth and changes during his time in Boulder. Starting his career as an edge rusher, he eventually found his true calling as an inside linebacker, thanks to the guidance of his coaches and teammates.
In this season of transition and new beginnings, and after a brief stint in the transfer portal, Jeremiah withdrew his name and is more motivated than ever to prove his worth and contribute to the team's success.
Adapting To A New Position
Jeremiah's journey from edge to inside linebacker was not an easy one.
It required a lot of introspection and conversations with his coaches, especially Coach Andre' Hart, who has been a significant influence in his life.Â
"I just had a real conversation with myself and with my coaches, just understanding what the league is looking for as far as off the edge," he said.
Jeremiah realized he didn't fit the typical mold of an edge rusher, and it would be better for him to focus on both inside linebacker positions to prepare for a potential professional career.
Teammates Make The Difference
One of the most significant changes this season has been the addition of new teammates in the linebacker room. Jeremiah is thrilled to be playing alongside guys like Reggie Hughes and Martavius French.Â
"Oh, shoot, them boys are truth," he said. "Reggie, y'all know I know Reggie Hughes. Truth, man, coming out very athletic, fast, gonna fly to the football. Then you got French, very instinctual, making plays. His blitz is amazing. They all of the passing lanes."
These new additions have not only elevated the level of competition but also brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. Jeremiah is eager to learn from them and grow together as a unit.
A Motivating Coach
Jeremiah's relationship with Coach Hart has been instrumental in his development as a player and a person.Â
Coach Hart is known for his motivational approach, allowing players to learn from their mistakes and grow into men.
Jeremiah appreciates Coach Hart's ability to prepare them for life beyond football, emphasizing that everything he does is for a reason.
"Very motivational, he allows you to mess up and understand what you messed up, but he won't beat you down for it. He will get on you for it, but he's growing us into men instead of just football," he said.
Confidence And A Chip On His Shoulder
Despite the challenges and transitions, Jeremiah is brimming with confidence heading into the season.Â
He credits his confidence to the hard work and preparation he has put in during the offseason. Jeremiah knows that he can trust his coaches and teammates to have his back and help him succeed.
"I'm very confident in my abilities. I put the work in — that's where the confidence comes from — preparation and the work that you put in. I trust my coaches and trust myself to do my job," he said.Â
The linebacker also acknowledges the outside noise and doubts surrounding the team, but instead of letting it bring him down, he uses it as fuel to prove everyone wrong.
"You have to be hungry. Now people are saying we don't have Travis or Shedeur. Â The year before that, what were they saying? Oh, we don't have the line. We're not big enough, and see what we did. It's always going to be something, so you got to use it as fuel," he said.
Excitement For The Season
Brown can't contain his excitement for the upcoming season and the opportunity to showcase the hard work and dedication of the team.Â
He can't wait to once again hear Coach Prime's theme music playing and the smoke filling the air.Â
He is eager to run out onto the field and show the world what Colorado is capable of.
