ANTHOLZ-ANTERSELVA, STELVIO & TERESO, Italy - Colorado athletes competed across alpine skiing, biathlon and cross country Saturday at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, highlighted by an Olympic debut and a top-30 finish.
Sarchett Moves Up in Olympic Debut
Former Buff Ryder Sarchett made his Olympic debut in the men's giant slalom, finishing 25th at the Stelvio Ski Center.
Starting 26th, Sarchett moved up one position overall after a strong second run. He sat 29th after the opening run before climbing four spots in the final standings.
His second run was especially strong in the closing stages, where he recorded top-15 sector times in each of the final two splits to secure his finish.
Reid Battles Conditions in Biathlon Sprint
Former Buff Joanne Reid finished 72nd in the women's 7.5K sprint biathlon at the Anterselva Biathlon Arnea.
Reid turned in another solid performance on the shooting range, hitting all five prone targets and going 4-for-5 in the standing stage. She ranked third among the four American competitors.
Starting ninth of 91 athletes, Reid faced challenging conditions after fresh snowfall early in the competition, putting early starters at a disadvantage.
Alev Rebounds With Top-30 Finish
Former Buff Alvar Alev delivered a strong rebound performance in the men's 10K freestyle at the Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium, finishing 28th.
Alev got out quickly, posting the 21st-fastest time at the 1.8K split, and maintained a position inside the top 30 throughout the race.
