Buffs Continue Competition on the Road

February 19, 2026 | Tennis

BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes tennis team (5-2) is ready for another three-match weekend, heading to Nevada to face UNLV on Friday, followed by Gonzaga and Utah Tech on Saturday.

Last Friday, the Buffs dropped a 4-0 match to Alabama, followed by a quick come back on Sunday for two 4-1 victories over Minnesota and St. Thomas.

This week, Colorado is looking to lead its series with UNLV, as the series record is currently tied at 6-6. The last two matchups have resulted in a win for the Black and Gold, at both a neutral location and on UNLV's home courts.

"Coming off a tough weekend of competition, we're ready to get back in it and face UNLV," said head coach Anthony Pham, "UNLV is a good team, Gonzaga and Utah Tech are also great opportunities for us."

The Rebels currently hold a 3-1 record, with all three wins credited by a 7-0 finish. Their solo loss was given by Big 12 opponent Iowa State, who downed the Rebels, 4-3.

Moving into Saturday, Colorado will face Gonzaga and Utah Tech, two unfamiliar foes. The Buffs hold a 2-0 series record over the Zags, their last matchup being in 2023 at Gonzaga, where the Black and Gold found a 4-2 victory.

Gonzaga also hold a 5-2 record going into Saturday's matchup and have found four perfect wins against past opponents.

As for Utah Tech, the Buffs have yet to face the Trailblazers. UT hold a 3-6 record this season, finding two wins against Weber State, and North Dakota.

"These are our last out of conference matches before we jump into Big 12 play," said Pham, "and I know the team is excited to get out and compete for three more matches this weekend."

Friday's matchup against UNLV will begin at 11 a.m. (MT). On Sunday, the Buffs will face Gonzaga at 11 a.m., followed by Utah Tech at 4 p.m. All competition will be held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex, and more information and live results can be found @cubuffstennis.
