McErlane, Walker Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Colorado women's basketball junior guards Maeve McErlane (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) and Zyanna Walker (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Heights)  were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, CSC announced on Tuesday, Mar. 24.  
 
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Basketball teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. All-District honorees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater at the time of nomination, and they are required to have competed in 90 percent of matches or have started in at least 66 percent of total matches. Academic All-District honorees were also considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
 
McErlane and Walker's selections mark the fourth year in a row that Colorado women's basketball athletes have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team – with Johanna Teder and Kindyll Wetta selected in 2024-25, Frida Formann, Jaylyn Sherrod, Aaronette Vonleh and Wetta in 2023-24, and Formann, Sherrod and Wetta in 2022-23.    
  
McErlane, majoring in Communications, started in 23 games for the Buffs in the 2025-26 season and played in all 34. She registered 42 total points, 27 rebounds, 40 assists and 12 steals in her first year with the Buffs, having arrived in Boulder this season after spending her first two seasons at DePaul. She had at least one assist in 20 games and at least one steal in 11 contests. McErlane now totals 199 career points, 103 rebounds, 150 assists and 31 steals.
  
Walker, majoring in sociology, played in 34 and started in 28 games for Colorado this season. Named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and All-Defensive Team, Walker averaged 11.3 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Her 2.1 steals per game is good for fourth overall in the Big 12. She is ranked 22nd in the conference in free throw percentage with 68.5%. On Feb. 2, Walker was named Big 12 Starting Five Top Performer when she posted her first double-double of the season and second of her career against former school Kansas State, with 13 points and 10 rebounds (Jan. 29). Against Kansas that same week, she had four steals and two assists, as well as registering a career-high 24 points, along with four rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks (Feb. 1). This season, she has had five or more steals three times and four or more steals six times. Walker also averaged 42.3% from the field this season and had double-digit points on 21 occasions.
 
Colorado women's basketball wrapped up the 2025-26 season in its 17th NCAA Tournament appearance as a program in the First Round, falling 66-57 to seven-seed Illinois (Mar. 21). The Buffs played three Big 12 Tournament games as a six-seed, beating Kansas (55-48, Mar. 5) and No. 20 Baylor (62-53, Mar. 6), and falling by just one point to No. 15 West Virginia in the semifinals (48-47, Mar. 7). CU finished sixth in conference with an 11-7 record, going 22-12 overall and 14-3 in the Events Center alone. Outside of Walker's conference recognition, Jade Masogayo was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team, Desiree Wooten received All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, and Logyn Greer was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
