Sanchez Announces Coaching Staff Elevations
March 06, 2026 | Soccer
BOULDER – Colorado soccer head coach Danny Sanchez announced the elevation of long-time staff members Jason Green and Dave Morgan on Friday.
Green moves from associate head coach to senior associate head coach. Morgan will now be the team's associate head coach and recruiting coordinator.
"First and foremost, Jason and Dave are great people," Sanchez acknowledged. "They are not only colleagues, but family. What we have as a soccer staff is unique and not seen in many places, with staffs in any sport. They both have had opportunities to be head coaches elsewhere, but know how special Boulder is and how fortunate we are all to work here. I couldn't be more excited that they have received these new staff designations. They represent our program, town and university with class and dedication. They are 100% focused on competing for and winning championships, while pushing our student-athletes to be the best versions of themselves on and off the pitch."
Green has been at CU since coming over with Sanchez from Wyoming in 2012. He started as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach in 2015. Green has helped lead the Buffs to nine NCAA Tournaments, including trips to the Sweet 16 in 2013 and 2025. Green has overseen the coaching and development of the Buffs' goalkeepers, including the team's top-two winningest goalkeepers in Jalen Tompkins (2015-19) and Jordan Nytes (2023-25). In his 14 seasons, Colorado has posted a 162-90-42 record, including 115 shutouts.
Morgan joined Sanchez's staff in 2015, reuniting with Sanchez after the two had coached together at Metro State in Denver during the 2004 and 2006 NCAA National Championships. Morgan has helped build the Buffs' roster throughout the years as the lead recruiter. He has been to seven NCAA Tournaments in his 11 years at CU, posting a 126-68-35 record.
Colorado resumes its spring season, hosting Colorado State on Mar. 29 at Prentup Field (1 p.m.).
