April 10, 2026 | Soccer

Action Starts At 10 AM, Championship Match At 3 PM

BOULDER — The Colorado Buffaloes Soccer Team will host the annual Colorado Cup this Sunday, April 12, at Prentup Field, welcoming five Front Range programs for a full day of spring competition.

Colorado will be joined by Denver, Northern Colorado, Air Force, Colorado College and UCCS in the round-robin style event, which culminates with a championship match at 3 p.m. The Buffaloes enter as the defending champions, having won the Colorado Cup in each of the last four contested seasons and seven of the last nine overall.

The tournament will once again feature a two-group format. Group 1 includes Denver, Northern Colorado and Air Force, while Group 2 features Colorado, Colorado College and UCCS. Each team will play two preliminary matches, with standings determined by a points system that includes penalty kick shootouts in the event of a draw.

All matches will be played in a 2x25-minute format with a five-minute halftime, allowing for a fast-paced day of competition across both fields at the Prentup complex. The championship match will be held on the south field, with the winner lifting the Colorado Cup at approximately 4 p.m.
