No. 15 Colorado Continues Trip in Florida to Take on Jacksonville

BOULDER – The 15th ranked Colorado women's lacrosse team (7-3, 1-1 Big 12) will stay in Florida to face the Jacksonville Dolphins (8-3, 4-1 ASUN) on Monday, April 6, at 10 a.m. MT.
On Saturday, April 4, Colorado fell to No. 5 Florida, 9-7. Junior attacker Jaimey Hill led the game in goals with three, earning her second hat trick of the season. Junior attacker Rachel Kennedy scored two goals, and junior defender Averi Gardner and senior midfielder Lily Assini each added a goal of their own. Sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh had five saves.
Last week, Assini and senior defender Jess Peluso earned Big 12 Player of the Week Awards. Assini received Midfielder of the Week after her performance against San Diego State in the conference opener (Mar. 28). She matched her career high six points and four goals, as well as two assists and one groundball.
Peluso earned her first Draw Specialist of the Week award and seventh weekly conference award of her career. Against the Aztecs, she had eight draw controls and five caused turnovers (Mar. 28).
The Buffaloes will take on Jacksonville for the third time in program history. Colorado is currently 1-1 against the Dolphins. The last time the Buffs and the Dolphins met was May 11, 2018, which was CU's first ever NCAA Tournament win (23-18).
