Peluso Earns Big 12 Defender of the Week

IRVING, Texas – No. 15 Colorado women's lacrosse marked its 13th weekly conference award with senior defender Jess Peluso earning Big 12 Defender of the Week, the Conference announced on Wednesday, April 8.
Peluso, the defender from East Islip, N.Y., recorded her fifth weekly conference award of the season and eighth of her career. Earlier this season, Peluso earned Big 12 Defender of the Week three times (Feb. 11, Feb. 18, Mar. 4) and Big 12 Draw Specialist of the Week once (April 1). She is also one of four Buffaloes on the Tewaaraton Watch List.
The Buffaloes took on then No.5 Florida on Saturday, April 4, and Jacksonville on Monday, April 6. Against the Gators, Peluso recorded two caused turnovers, one ground ball and one draw control. In the game against the Dolphins, she added another caused turnover, groundball and draw control to her weekend tally. Peluso had no fouls in Colorado's overtime win against Jacksonville (10-9).
The Buffs will return home to Boulder, Colo., to face Big 12 opponent Cincinnati, on Saturday, April 11. First draw is set for 12 p.m. MT and fans can tune in on ESPN+.
