May 19, 2026 | Lacrosse
NORTHBOROUGH, MASS.– Colorado's sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh won the IWLCA Co-Defensive Player of the Week after her performance in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals against top-seeded Northwestern.
Against the No. 10 scoring offense in the country, and the No. 2 individual scorer, Madison Taylor, Oh finished the game with 11 saves on 29 shots, including four in the overtime periods. The saves were the second highest of the season for Oh, as well as the sixth most in an NCAA Tournament game this season.
This is Colorado's first IWLCA National Player of the Week since 2018, when Darby Kiernan won Offensive Player of the Week and Sarah Brown won Defensive Player of the Week.
Oh, a Chapel Hill, N.C., native, posted all 16 wins in net for the Buffs this season, recording her first season with double-digit wins and the most in a season in CU history. She leads the conference and the country, allowing only 6.95 goals per game. Oh earned seven Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors this season, pushing her career total to 11. She was named to the Tewaarton Watch List during the season. Oh is the first Colorado player to earn Goalkeeper of the Year honors in addition to being a unanimous All-Big 12 selection as well as an All-American Honorable Mention by USA Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse.
